RMI is starting a paramedic course that certifies with the National Registry of EMTs based in the United States. This course is offered here in Ireland and in Texas.Students who finish this course will be able to sit for the NREMT Paramedic exams.
The accelerated NREMT
Paramedic program is a fully certified US Dept of Transportation
Paramedic. Graduates will be fully certified through NREMT as paramedics.
Class format
- Part I: 6 month online training
The 6 months of online training uses the JBLearning format and the Nancy Caroline’s Emergency Care in the Streets textbook.
- Part II: 14 day hands-on course consisting of practicals, OSCE exams, and hands on training located in Wexford, Ireland
Students will come to Ireland for classroom based lectures and practice exams to prepare them for the NREMT Basic and Paramedic exams.
- Part III: 7 week clinical rotation in the United States.
Students will to fly to the US in order to complete their training. They will be required to immediately sit the NREMT Basic and Paramedic exams. If they pass these tests they will be allowed to start their clinical training. If they do not pass either of these exams they will be required to pay for a retest. If they do not pass their retest they will not be allowed to continue their training.
Students will be required to find their own accommodation and rental car.
CERTIFICATION:
This programme is certified through the US based National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians .
