The pathophysiology of heat stroke

There are three stages to heat injury: Heat Cramp, Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke. Here is what happens to a casualty who suffers from heat stroke.

Don't forget that treatment from heat injuries includes: 
   1. Removing the casualty from the environment
   2. Removing all clothing
   3. Moisten the entire body
   4. Fan with a shirt or other means.

Don't over cool the casualty.

Dermoclysis - Subcutaneous Hydration for the Remote Medic

   Dermoclysis is the infusion of sterile saline fluids into the subcutaneous space in the belly of the casualty. For the Remote Medic, it is important to have the medical skills to deal with a hypovolemic casualty who needs rehydration fluids but who does not have an easily obtainable intravenous access.
